Group based access to AIO Tests

If your organization has different teams using Jira for their own purposes then not all teams would require access to a Test Management system. In fact, it might make it confusing for them to see a testing app in their projects or along with apps that they do need to function.

AIO Tests understands this situation and thus provides a way to control access to AIO Tests app via Jira User Groups.

  • This action can only be done by a Jira Admin

  • By default, all users in all existing Jira Groups have access to AIO Tests

  • If a new Jira user group is created after AIO Tests has been installed, then access will need to be added to the newly created group using the steps below

Follow the below steps to control access via Groups

  1. Go to Manage Apps from the Apps menu on the top bar and then click on “Access” (shown below) under AIO TESTS

  2. The AIO Tests Access page will be displayed with a list of all the existing Jira User groups. Since access cannot be removed for Admins, the admin groups are disabled

  3. Users can select/de-select a group for controlling access and then click on Save. Once access is removed, users in that group will not see AIO Tests anywhere in Jira. It will be hidden from the project left menu as well as from the top Apps menu

If a particular user belongs to multiple groups then access will need to be removed from all the groups to ensure they don’t see AIO Tests. If even a single group to which they belong has access to AIO Tests, then the user will continue to see AIO Tests
